Common Ground Network is a unified group of churches, food pantries, agencies, civic organizations, City of Mansfield and Mansfield Independent School District that work together to coordinate the provision of food and essential services to the under-resourced citizens of the Mansfield community.
Programs of Common Ground Network include food drives, school supplies, Feed The Kids for Summer, community reading program and Christmas program. This past Christmas we were able to provide Christmas gifts to 1,507 under-resourced children in the Mansfield Independent School District. This success was made possible through the work of many volunteers from each of Common Ground's member organizations and some very generous donor sponsors. We want to publicly thank and recognize the following donors: Mansfield Cares donated $15 food vouchers for every child; The Hatch Foundation (Sherman Hatch) supplied 214 bicycles; The Jerry Bellows Auto Tech Department at Ben Barber (Rick Curlee) donated 83 bicycles; and Toys for Tots supplied toys for some of the children. Churches and organizations who are members of Common Ground Network provided clothing, shoes and gifts for these children though their Christmas programs. We want to thank all those who gave so generously and pray that many families were blessed in the giving and receiving of these gifts.Teresa Sherwood, chairpersonCommon Ground Network Christmas CommitteeHave more to add?
