SASO (Scholars & Athletes Serving Others), a mother and son philanthropic organization, is sponsoring the 2nd annual Best Buddies Valentines Dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 9 at Carroll Senior High School Students Activity Center. This amazing event includes a sit-down dinner, desserts, dancing, a DJ, party favors and photographers for some incredible individuals. There is even a photo booth for everyone to capture his or her special moment.Best Buddies, an organization that offers one-on-one friendship, employment and development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has put out the word to all its amazing members in our surrounding communities to come and enjoy this wonderful evening.Originally, the plan was to only invite Best Buddies from Southlake and the surrounding cities, but SASO and Best Buddies has expanded the list to include the SOTX Special Olympics Athletes, Champion Services Group Home and Brookwood Group Homes. This event comes with a price tag. This is where you can help. I am asking you to grab your checkbook and write a check for $10 made out to SASO, then mail it to 1500 Shady Oaks Dr., Southlake TX 76092. Put BEST BUDDIES in the memo section so you know it is going to this event.Last year, more than 100 special individuals dressed up and enjoyed an amazing Valentine's Day evening. And this year, with the additional invitations, the list is slated to double. What better way to show a bit of love on this special day than to make it special for someone else! It's all GreekFor moms who have daughters that are graduating and going on to college, as you have most likely discovered, one of the most exciting aspects of college is the whole sorority bit.How does it work?
