A third Irving sibling has died as a result of a wreck Sunday in Grand Prairie in which a car stalled along Interstate 30 and was struck by a pickup.

Maria Gonzalez-Refugio, 12, was pronounced dead less than an hour after the accident near Texas 161. Her sister, Diana Gonzalez, 13, died Sunday night at a Fort Worth hospital. Their brother, Jesus Gonzalez, 6, died Monday evening, Grand Prairie police said.

The siblings' 10-year-old sister, Maria de Jesus Gonzalez, is in critical condition at Cook Children's Medical Center, police said.

Grand Prairie police received a 911 call reporting a car had stalled in the westbound lanes about 1:50 p.m. Sunday but the 2004 Dodge Stratus was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup before police arrived.

The children's mother, Maria Francisca Vasquez, 31, was driving the Dodge Stratus when it stalled in the left lane of westbound 1-30. Her husband, Juan Gonzalez, got out of the vehicle and was trying to wave off oncoming traffic when it was struck from behind by the pickup, driven by Justin Beavers, 30, of North Richland Hills, police said.

Vasquez had minor injuries. Neither Beavers nor Gonzalez were injured.

The investigation is still under way, and no other action has been taken by authorities.
