Have a question? Just look for the purple jacket

Need help at the Stock Show? Just find an ambassador.

"We are here to greet people and help them find what they are looking for at the Stock Show," said Ed Chisholm, one of more than 90 volunteers who serve as ambassadors at the event.

They stand ready to provide any information a visitor might need, but there is apparently no shortage of obvious queries.

"Where's the bathroom and where's the beer stand, those are the two most popular," said Chisholm, who is the head athletic trainer and assistant athletic director at Fort Worth Country Day School.

"I like to focus on the groups coming in with kids, because they're wanting something to do with the children. So we always direct them immediately to the FFA area, where they have the baby chickens and baby ducks and the petting zoo."

And Chisholm and his fellow volunteers are easy to spot. They are attired in brilliant purple, Western-cut suit coats.

So if you're lost, or just at a loss, at the Stock Show, seek out one of these purple people leaders.
