Kenneth Wimberly, managing director for KW Commercial and founder and president of Noble Crest Property Group, has been awarded the 2012 Charles D. Tandy Commercial Realtor Award by the Society of Commercial Realtors, its top honor.

The award was established to recognize local commercial Realtors who exemplify the highest in professional standards. It was first presented in 1990.

KW Commercial specializes in investment sales with a strong background in land sales, lot sales and acquisition, syndications, site selection, bank REOs, and buyer/tenant representation.

"Integrity, leadership and outstanding character are really what this award is about, and no one exemplifies those qualities better than Kenneth Wimberly," said Tyler Trahant, SCR's chairman.

In another award, Donnie Sherwood with Integra Realty Resources received the Dottie Pletch Extra Mile Award for his dedication and service to SCR. This award is presented annually to an individual who contributes an extraordinary level of service with an exemplary attitude to assist SCR in its endeavors.

SCR is an organization of commercial real estate professionals that operates independently and under the auspices of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors. Its mission is to advance knowledge, education, integrity and professional conduct in the fields of commercial and investment real estate, as well as encourage the exchange of specialized information and advance the economic growth of Tarrant County.

Shopping center completed

Ellis & Tinsley has completed construction of a 9,315-square-foot shopping center in north Fort Worth that is 85 percent leased.

The center, at 3088 Basswood Blvd., is leased to Subway and Best Buffet. Subway will open this month, Best Buffet in July.

Charles "C.B." Team served as project manager and negotiated the leases. Ellis & Tinsley will manage the property.

D-FW a top destination

Dallas-Fort Worth moved to second place on the Penske Truck Rental annual list of top moving destinations in the U.S.

The area came in fourth in 2011. The list is compiled through online consumer truck rental reservations.

Atlanta remained the top destination. D-FW was followed by Phoenix, which was in second on the 2011 list. Orlando, third in 2011, was fourth in 2012.

Chicago, Houston, Denver, Seattle, Charlotte, N.C., and Sarasota, Fla., finished out the list.

Jesse Cole bought a nearly 4-acre tract of land. Kirk Kelly with Transwestern represented the buyer.

641 Industrial Drive, Grapevine

Entech Solar has leased 5,000 square feet of office space. LeAnn Brown with Silver Oak Commercial Realty represented the tenant. Mike McGee with McGee & Associates represented the landlord.

920 Minters Chapel Road, Grapevine

VSW Water Purity has leased 20,960 square feet of office/warehouse space. Rick Medinis with NAI Robert Lynn negotiated the transaction.

1300 Minters Chapel Road, Grapevine

CHEP Aerospace US has leased 24,245 square feet of office/warehouse space. Rick Medinis with NAI Robert Lynn represented the landlord. Greg Lance with UGL Equis represented the tenant.

751-771 E. Southlake Blvd., Southlake

Noorneel Llc. has bought a 14,848-square-foot, two-building office complex from HOV Re Llc. Dolores Wood-Euart with CBRE represented the seller. James Keoughan with Re/Max Heritage Commercial represented the buyer.
