Texas Tech scored 25 points off 23 TCU turnovers and kept the Horned Frogs winless in Big 12 women's basketball with a 53-42 victory Sunday afternoon at United Spirit Arena.

"It comes down to us rebounding and turnovers," TCU coach Jeff Mittie said, according to texastech.com.

"We gave up too many offensive rebounds and we turned the basketball over to much."

Senior guard Chynna Brown scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her first career double-double to lead Texas Tech (16-4, 6-2 Big 12).

The Horned Frogs (7-11, 0-7 Big 12) never took back the lead after Brown hit her second 3-pointer with 3 seconds left before halftime, giving Tech a 27-25 lead at the break.

Tech won its fourth consecutive game and is off to its best eight-game start in Big 12 play since 2004-05 (7-1).

The Lady Raiders shot just 33.3 percent from the floor but grabbed 20 offensive boards.

"Tech really does a great job with their pressure on their perimeter, we knew that coming in. Our guards struggled against that," Mittie said.

Guards Zahna Medley and Donielle Breaux led TCU with nine points apiece. But along with guard Kamy Cole they combined to hit only 9 of 33 shots. TCU shot only 31 percent from the field.

TCU center Latricia Lovings had nine blocks, tied for fourth most in program history. She and Natalie Ventress each had a team-high seven rebounds. Ventress scored eight points.

Tech continued its dominance in the all-time series, with a 38-1 record against TCU.
