About the Suns: The Suns fired coach Alvin Gentry last week and replaced him with Lindsey Hunter. Hunter had never been a head coach on any level, but opened his Suns' tenure with wins on consecutive nights at Sacramento (106-96), and against the LA Clippers (93-88).... The Suns have the second-worst record in the West and are just 18th in the NBA in scoring (95.5 ppg), 21st in points allowed (99.4 ppg) and 27th in rebounding (40.5 rpg). ... Point guard Goran Dragic leads the way for Phoenix with 14.2 ppg and 6.2 apg, Luis Scola averages 13.3 ppg and 6.5 rpg, and Marcin Gortat is averaging 11.7 ppg and 8.8 rpg. ... The Suns lost at San Antonio 108-99 on Saturday.

About the Mavericks: Dallas comes in after Friday's 113-107 home loss to the San Antonio Spurs, who were without injured Tim Duncan ... This is the final game of this two-game homestand before the Mavs hit the road for games against Portland, Golden State, Phoenix and Oklahoma City. ... The Mavs have used 16 starting lineups this season, including on Friday, when Elton Brand started at center alongside Dirk Nowitzki for the first time this season. ...
