TCU opens baseball practice today as a consensus top 15 team. The Horned Frogs' practices at Lupton Stadium are open to the public. Today's practice begins at 2:15 p.m.

The USA Today coaches' poll and Baseball America picked the Frogs Nos. 12 and 14, respectively, in their preseason rankings, released Thursday.

TCU finished 40-22 last season after advancing to the Super Regionals (the final 16 teams) for the third time in four seasons. TCU is No. 14 in Perfect Game's preseason rankings and No. 15 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.

"Regardless of where you're ranked, it's an honor for the program to be among the top 30 or 40 schools," said TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle, who begins his 10th season with the Frogs. "I've always felt there are about 40 teams, if they play well at the right time, can get to Omaha. Ten years ago, our goal was to put this program in a position to be good enough every year to be considered among those teams. It does feel good to be in that mix."

Seventeen letter winners, including six everyday starters and eight pitchers, return from last year.
