We know why David Dewhurst has removed Wendy Davis from the Senate Education Committee. She drew so much national attention for an end-of-session filibuster two years ago over massive education cuts.

The "squeaky wheel" needed to be silenced.

Davis first won her Senate seat by unseating longtime Republican state Sen. Kim Brimer. That had to be fixed, by redistricting.

But darn, Davis held her seat again by beating her new well-funded opponent, Rep. Mark Shelton. Teachers and other education groups rallied behind her tenacious style, wanting an educated workforce in this state.

The voters of Tarrant County sent her to Austin for good reason.

The lieutenant governor leads the "good ol' boy network" with continued attempts to diminish the presence of this smart lady, and it is very obvious why. She scares them!

Instead of paying so much attention to cutting healthcare for women, the Republican Senate needs to listen to the voters of Tarrant County.
