An African-American woman armed with a handgun pistol-whipped a clerk at a Keller Subway restaurant and took an undisclosed amount of money Sunday night during a holdup, Keller police said Tuesday.

The robber struck the clerk in the face with the handgun before she fled the restaurant in the 800 block of Keller Parkway.

Keller police released a composite drawing of the suspect on Tuesday, hoping someone might recognize her.

The robbery happened about 9 p.m. Sunday.

The bandit was described as about 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-7, medium to heavy build with medium length black hair slicked back. She was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, and large baggy basketball shorts with white or silver stripes down the sides.

She also was wearing a white folded bandana as a headband.

A witness observed a suspicious vehicle at the time of the holdup, police said. The vehicle was described as a dark 1999 to 2002 Buick Regal.

Anyone with information should call Keller police at 817-743-4627.
