HASLET - Just because it's winter, doesn't mean fresh, local produce cannot be purchased.
The Haslet Farmer's Market is open for business, 8 a.m. to noon, second and fourth Saturdays through March at the Haslet Community Park, 301 1st St. South."Early in the year we asked customers to sign a petition if they would like to see us open through the fall. We got over 1,000 signatures and the City Council extended our permit accordingly,"organizer Elizabeth Goodson said. ."Goodson said she decided to re-open the market to give farmers a place to continue selling and keep consumer interest in the Haslet location."Our farmers have produce, all be it limited, but they still need a market," Goodson said. "And since this a first year market, we didn't want our customers to get out of the habit of looking forward to visiting us for produce, honey, sausage, cheeses, pastas, spices, tamales and baked goods."For more visit hasletfarmersmarket.com.Have more to add?
