Council approves May election

Keller City Council approved a May 11 election for Place 3 and Place 4 positions, currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Tom Cawthra and Councilman Bill Dodge.

Citizens who meet candidacy requirements may file for a place on the ballot during city business hours from Jan. 30 through March 1 at Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Parkway.

Open house

Keller firefighters are inviting the public to an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 26 at Station No. 4, 455 Keller-Smithfield Road South.

The free event will include fire station tours, equipment displays and demonstrations, fire extinguisher training and a fire truck and ambulance on will be on display. Complimentary popcorn will be served and the Fire Clown Brigade will be there to keep children entertained.

CPR class

The Trophy Club Fire Department is holding a Heartsaver CPR/AED class from 9 - 11 a.m. Feb. 2 at the fire station, 295 Trophy Club Drive.

The course teaches adult, child and infant CPR and AED use and how to relieve choking.

The course is designed for people with limited or no medical training, or anyone needing a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

Cost is $10 per person for ages over 16. Ages 12 through 16 are welcome with a parent. Class size is limited and registration is required. Private classes are also offered for groups of 10 to 12 participants.
