God answers 'no'

Gov. Rick Perry organized a Christian "prayer for rain" event last August in Houston.

The event was timed right before hurricane season. Hurricanes should have generated large amounts of seasonal rainfall. God answered with no rain, intensified drought and horrible wildfires. Remember?

Now Perry says the answer to gun violence and the slaughter of our children is not attempting to control the problem legally, but to go to our places of worship and pray for help and the safety of our children.

I truly shudder as I await God's response.

We have to solve this complex issue. All sides have to bend a bit and compromise.

I don't see much of this happening yet. And yes, I spent three years in the Army and am proficient in the use of a variety of weapons.
