Fort Worth Wyatt overcame a sluggish first half to post a 69-48 victory over Granbury in a District 7-4A game on Friday at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center.
Wyatt (14-8, 7-0) extended its district winning streak to 16 games, which includes nine straight to close out last season.
Wyatt's Deon Daniels had the hot hand early, hitting his first three shots all from 3-point range in the first quarter.
Granbury (13-11, 4-3) stayed aggressive, outscoring Wyatt 13-8 in the second quarter, but Wyatt took a 27-23 lead into the half.
"I knew they were going to come out and be very physical with us," Wyatt head coach Rodney McFadden said. "When you're leading the district, you're going to get everybody's best shot."
Wyatt extended its lead in the third quarter thanks to six rebounds in a four-minute span by forward Ladell Marshall.
Chaparrals 5-foot-8 senior guard Kendrick Salone repeatedly drove to the basket in the second half, finishing with 16 points including 14 of 15 from the free-throw line.
Wyatt closed the door in the fourth quarter with a 15-0 run.
