ARLINGTON -- Police responding to a call about gunfire found a man fatally shot Thursday afternoon outside a house on the east side of Arlington, police reported.

The man had not been identified by late Thursday. He appeared to be in his 20s, Tiara Richard, a police spokeswoman, said in a news release.

Police were called about 5 p.m. to a residence in the 300 block of Roberts Circle, in a neighborhood southwest of the intersection of East Abram Street and Texas 360.

The original 911 call indicated that someone had been cut, Richard said.

"As officers were on the way to the scene, additional calls were received notifying officers that shots had been fired at the residence," Richard said.

Outside the house, officers found the dead man with gunshot wounds. An injured man was also found and taken to a hospital.

Police were still talking to "multiple witnesses" Thursday night, she said.
