Eight veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are freshmen in Congress. This is welcomed by veteran voters because it comes at a time when the overall number of veterans in Congress is on a steep and steady decline.

As a veteran, I believe that with a strong veterans voting bloc in Congress, our patriotic values and principles will prevail. We are counting on them; freedom and democracy are at risk.

I pledge to support the freshmen and to promote the election of veterans with brains and spine.
