Former TCU quarterback Casey Pachall is back on campus and will begin classes Monday, according to his father, Stan, and coach Gary Patterson.

Pachall, who left school to seek treatment for substance abuse after an October arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, moved back to Fort Worth on Friday.

Patterson said Pachall took part in team meetings Sunday.

"He looks great," Patterson said. "It's like he looked when he was a freshman. Right now, we feel really good about this. It's never going to be 100 percent perfect but there is a chance we did the right thing and made a difference. You've got to understand, everybody is going to be watching on this."

Stan Pachall said by email that Casey finished his out-patient treatment Thursday in Austin, where he was living with his sister.

"He did everything we wanted him to do," Patterson said.

Stan Pachall said by email that he did not want to comment on his son returning to TCU until it was official but was thankful for the support Casey received.

"Some people are just haters and want to see people fail," Stan Pachall said. "To the haters, I hope that they never have anyone close to them that suffers from addiction of any substance. And to the people that support and have prayed for Casey's recovery - thank you."

Pachall will begin working out with the team Monday and will likely be given a chance to earn the starting job, which Trevone Boykin filled when Pachall left after the Horned Frogs' fourth game. Pachall will be a senior in 2013.

Pachall has not lifted weights or thrown a ball in several months, Patterson said.
