A suspected burglar effectively led Parker County officers to his lair Saturday, officials said.

Deputies followed footprints from the window of a house that had been burglarized to a nearby house where they found a 15-year-old and some of the loot from the burglary, said Sheriff Larry Fowler.

The owner of the home in the 1700 block of Greg Street in Azle discovered the break-in about 8 p.m. Saturday. Among the missing items were $600 cash, two .22-caliber pistols, ammunition and an MP3 Player, Fowler said.

The homeowner identified items found in the suspect's possession as items that were missing from his home.

The suspect was taken to the juvenile detention center and the case will be forwarded to the Parker County Juvenile Courts, Fowler said.
