Four people were injured, two seriously, in the 11:25 a.m. collision of a MITS bus and a pickup truck in the 5200 block of Campus Drive, an official said.

Two victims were transported by ambulances to area hospitals, but neither had life-threatening injuries, said MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky.

"Apparently, the MITS bus ran into the back of the pickup," he said. The driver of the pickup temporarily lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital with neck and back injuries."

A wheelchair-bound passenger on the MITS bus, who slid out of her chair when the bus hit the truck, sustained facial lacerations requiring hospitalization, Zavadsky said.

"The driver of the MITS bus and another passenger were treated at the scene and released," he said.
