Once again, I am amazed by the incompetents we continue to reelect to represent us in Washington. With their late-night fiscal cliff drama, they did nothing but make our fiscal problems worse.
They decided to pass up an opportunity to raise substantial revenue by not allowing the Bush-era tax cuts to expire. They formalized the class warfare initiated by President Obama, symbolically raising taxes on one group for the benefit of another favored class. They extended unemployment benefits yet again, continuing to make people more dependent on government and reduce incentive.They refused to do anything about their out-of-control spending. They did nothing to close loopholes, eliminate special-interest subsidies or clean up any part of the tax codes. With program cuts, sequestration and debt ceiling, they did what they do best -- kick the can down the road.They led us to the fiscal cliff and jumped off with parachutes, patting themselves on the back for a job well done, leaving the rest of us behind waiting for the next tragic comedy.-- James Withaeger, ArlingtonHave more to add?
