Authorities in Johnson County sent out reminders to residents on Thursday to be on alert as investigators continued to search for a man who is accused of sexually assaulting women on rural county roads just a few months ago.

Two women were victims in the attacks that occurred last summer and again in the fall.

Johnson County residents received the notices in emails, advising them to be aware of suspicious people in neighborhoods.

The notices also recommended that residents write down license numbers or descriptions of suspicious vehicles in an area.

The first attack occurred on July 8 on County Road 605 and 605A

The woman told authorities that she was jogging on the road in eastern Johnson County when a man armed with a knife came up behind her and dragged her off to a secluded area.

At that point, the man sexually assaulted her and further threatened her, authorities said in a news release. After the attack, the suspect took the woman's jewelry.

A second woman was attacked on Sept. 27 in her front yard just off County Road 528.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall, who has worn a red ball cap and big sunglasses. He was in a red plaid long-sleeve shirt with sleeves down, blue jeans and brown boots in the July attack.

Investigators have received tips, but no one has been arrested.

Anyone with information should call Johnson County Sheriff's Office at 817-556-6060 or Crime Stoppers at 800-794-8477.
