God and rights

I just wanted to respond to those who promote the idea that Americans with no belief in a god are not entitled to any "unalienable rights." (See: "God-given rights," Monday)

With very little research, they will easily discover that in 1789 the document laying the foundation for the protection of these rights was ratified, "established and ordained" by "We the People" without affirmation toward any supernatural beings.

Because of the superstitious ideology of some, I am concerned whether "we the people" will continue to support that document, preserving these rights for all Americans.
