A Weatherford man was killed late Tuesday when the motorcycle he was operating veered off a Parker County road and hit a tree, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.

The Tarrant County medical examiner's website identified the victim as Michael Grandstaff, 42. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The wreck occurred about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Tin Top Road, about two miles south of Weatherford.

Grandstaff was northbound on the road when his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle left the road and struck the tree, said DPS Trooper Gary Rozzell on Wednesday.

Grandstaff, who was a bartender, was not wearing a helmet, a DPS report states.

Investigators had not determined what caused the motorcyle to go off the road.
