Who else is to blame?

After reading the Thursday article "Josh Brent faces trial on charge of intoxication manslaughter," I am wondering who else might be responsible for this deadly wreck.

Although police say he drove under the influence -- the most serious offense -- my question is this: Who was there and might have been a witness to Brent getting smashed, and then did nothing to stop him from driving?

Did anyone really believe that he would have been capable to call for or ask someone to drive him and his friend home? Surely someone could have seen what was going on. Or was everyone else also under the influence?

Were the club's proprietors also not paying attention, so they all allowed him to leave in that state? How many of them are feeling guilty today?

Two lives lost -- one for maybe 20 years, and another forever, because so many may have been having too good of a time to notice.
