As a holder of two honorable discharges, I'm not scared of weapons; however, assault weapons in the hands of people who have had no military experience or training in the proper use of weapons does raise my concern.

The only justification for rifles, shotguns or pistols is for hunting and/or home protection, in my estimation. These other weapons, such as AK-47s or those that hold 30-clip magazines, serve no good purpose.

If the NRA had anything to do with traffic, its leaders would be calling for unlimited speed limits. Plus, their solution to ending school violence is to put armed guards in every school.

As one who spent 40 years in education, I believe putting prayer back into schools would be much more effective.
