Trip Gabriel reported that the Tea Party is on decline. That may be true nationwide, but residents of Northeast Tarrant County know that isn't true here.
Among other things, the local Tea Party is going after non-partisan city council positions by pushing for term limits in Grapevine. The only thing keeping extremists from our city governments is the fact that our moderate city council members can run again. Introducing term limits has worked to the Tea Party benefit in Southlake, and Grapevine is next. Surrounding cities are the next obvious targets.Nationwide, people have seen that the Tea Party future means more children per classroom, lower salaries for city employees, rollbacks in city environmental initiatives and fewer services. Hopefully, North Texas will also comprehend the deterioration of America's future with Tea Party policies.-- Mark Bauer, ColleyvilleHave more to add? News tip? Tell us
