Trimble Tech principal being reassigned after short stint
FORT WORTH -- Trimble Tech High School principal Joe Dugan is being reassigned, and a former principal is returning to take over at the campus, the district confirmed Wednesday.
Fort Worth schools and offices are closed for a two-week winter break. Reached Wednesday, district spokeswoman Barbara Griffith declined to give a reason or other details about the leadership change.
In a brief statement, Griffith said: "After much consideration, Mr. Dugan will be reassigned and, after the Christmas break, Mr. Omar Ramos will become the acting principal of Trimble Tech High School."
Dugan served as acting principal for part of last school year before being named to the post permanently in June.
Ramos left the campus in 2007 when he was named Fort Worth schools' director of secondary school leadership. He was named director of transformational leadership in July.
Dugan and Trimble Tech dealt with tragedy in February, when two students died in an alcohol-related crash. A friend committed suicide after their deaths.
