SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Most players feel like their college careers flew by in the blink of any eye.

Not so for TCU offensive lineman Blaize Foltz. He remembers it all. Every game, every practice. And all the cherished memories with teammates.

Foltz will start his 26th consecutive and final game when the Horned Frogs (7-5) play Michigan State (6-6) at 9:15 p.m. Saturday in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Tempe, Ariz.

With 27 career starts, Foltz trails only Stansly Maponga (33) and Josh Boyce (32) among current TCU players. Center James Fry, also a senior, is next with 24 career starts.

"A lot of people say it flies by, but I can go back and I can remember every game, every practice and the special people who have been here and taught us the way," Foltz said after TCU's Christmas Day practice at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale.

It's not only the football memories Foltz and 17 other departing seniors are reflecting on as their careers conclude. It's the campus life and friendships.

"Mostly, it's the times we've had outside of football -- the cookouts we had, the barbecue, the classes together," said Foltz, who was named second team All-Big 12. "Little things that built our friendships that will go on after football."

Emotions will be running high before, during and after the game for all the seniors, Foltz said.

"It definitely feels like the last one," he said. "It's starting to really set in. I'm pretty excited. I'm sure there will be some happy tears after the game ... if we win. Either way, there will be some pretty big emotions."

It will be an emotional night for their parents, too, especially the seniors' moms.

"I think for her, it's probably the worst because she's the mom," he said. "I hope she recovers fine for the next day."

Winging it

Both TCU and Michigan State will dine at Buffalo Wild Wings near the Arizona State campus (705 S. Rural Road, Tempe, Ariz. 85281) tonight.

Each team will have a wing-eating contest. Blaize Foltz expects his younger brother and fellow offensive lineman Brady to be King of the Wing.

"I've seen everyone eat, and I will tell you that Brady Foltz can definitely out-eat us all," he said. "I'm pulling for my little brother."

Blaize said Brady, who's a sophomore, doesn't care about the flavor. "Just wing, or chicken" is enough of a flavor for Brady, he joked.

"I like it hot, not the blazin', but the one right next to it," Blaize Foltz said. "Those are my favorite. I like to sweat a little bit."

Those are called "Wild," and they're two notches up from what BWW labels "Hot."

Their hottest wings, called "Blazin'," come with a warning to "keep away from your eyes, pets and children."

Quotable

"This is a great challenge for us. We know the kind of game and the kind of defense that Michigan State has, and to win this ballgame you have to be the best defense on the field." -- TCU coach Gary Patterson at his arrival press conference Monday
