There is no comparing Kenny Hill to anyone else. Keep on trying, the 2012 Star-Telegram Super Team Offensive Player of the Year will continue to shrug it off. Hill used to be compared to his father Ken, a former major league All-Star who pitched for 14 years. Then he was compared to the previous Southlake Carroll quarterbacks, such as Chase Daniel and Greg McElroy, who went on to college careers and the NFL. Now the Texas A&M recruit is being compared to Heisman winner and Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel. That's a lot of pressure on a kid who just turned 18 last week.

"Pressure's a good thing as long as you don't get stressed out," Hill said. "It helps you really stay focused on what you're trying to do each and every day. It's just one of those things where you have to keep working hard -- you can't get complacent."

Hill finished with a 12-2 career postseason record as a three-year starter at Carroll, which included an undefeated run to the 2011 Class 5A Division I state title as a junior.

Most of the starters on the championship team graduated, including the entire receiving corps, but it didn't stop Hill from turning in his most prolific statistical regular season by throwing for 2,291 yards and 20 touchdowns with another 905 yards and 22 scores on the ground.

His performance garnered him several accolades, such as 2012 Gatorade Texas Player of Year and The Associated Press Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year, not to mention another undefeated district title.

"Kenny was the ultimate teammate," Carroll coach Hal Wasson said. "The bigger the game, the bigger he played. He strived to be the best he could be, and it was truly an honor to coach him and watch him reach these pinnacles and remain very humble.

"I've been blessed to coach a lot of great players. Kenny's the best I've ever been around."
