By raising taxes on the rich, we supposedly raise an additional $80 billion in revenue. Since the current deficit is close to $1.4 trillion, that's about 6 percent of what is needed to "close" the spending gap.

Given that Democrats seem reluctant to cut anything (other than defense), what is their plan for the other 94 percent? Where is this "balanced approach" they keep advertising? I think it is finally time for Democrats to put their "big-boy" pants on and provide us with some concrete proposals.
