In his Wednesday column, "Tears keep coming -- for victims, nation," Bob Ray Sanders named several of the country's most recent notorious killers without one time naming any of the victims who were needlessly slaughtered by their cowardly killers.

It's easy to see where so many of the perpetrators get the ideas in their heads to kill innocent victims. The media have done their best to immortalize the killers.

Because of how the media have elevated the crimes of these horrible villains, they will live long in our lives from the atrocities they have committed. The media have inadvertently made these psychotic killers into martyrs.

Just on the actions of the past week, the media (CNN, FOX, MSNBC, CBS, etc.) are again planting the seed into another individual who is looking to get the posthumous recognition that will make him live forever in our minds from another mass killing.

It's not the guns, it's the notoriety of their success; the guns are the tools to help them reach their success.
