A Kennedale man was killed early Thursday when he ran into traffic in the 1500 block of North Collins Street in Arlington and was struck by a vehicle.

Clint Waycaster, 31, had been in a business on Collins about 1:45 a.m. when a business manager tried to put him into a taxi "because he appeared to be intoxicated," an Arlington police news release said. "The man fled and ran into the southbound lanes of North Collins Street."

Waycaster was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a 2005 Jeep Laredo, whose driver stopped and is cooperating with officers. There were no indications that the driver was impaired, the news release said.
