Two men with the nicknames "Irving" and "Juice" have been indicted on federal charges accusing them of providing the drugs that killed two people, including an 18-year-old woman from Grapevine, the U.S. attorney's office reported.
Misael "Irving" Perla, 24, and Hugo "Juice" Sanchez, 23, both of Dallas, were indicted Tuesday. They were in the Dallas County and Tarrant County jails, respectively, on state drug charges Wednesday. They will be moved to federal custody after hearings late this week.In the nine-count indictment, prosecutors said that from July 2012 to Sept. 13, 2012, Perla and Sanchez "conspired to possess with the intent to distribute" 100 grams or more of heroin, 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and 500 grams or more of cocaine, according to a news release.Also, they said, Perla "possessed with the intent to distribute" heroin that caused the overdose death of Alexandra Julia Moreno, 20, of Irving. He is also accused of providing the drugs believed to have killed Cassidy Seward, 18, of Grapevine, who died at a Grapevine hospital on Aug. 28. The Tarrant County medical examiner ruled that heroin and methamphetamine caused her death.Sanchez was also indicted on one count of possessing a firearm illegally because he is a convicted felon and another count of having a gun while trafficking drugs."Heroin use is on the rise in North Texas and traffickers should take heed," U.S. Attorney Sarah R.
