Arlington police on Wednesday said they were continuing to search for an elderly woman who has been showing signs of Alzheimer's disease.

Family members said Maria Arrocha, 77, was last seen by family members about 9 a.m. Tuesday at her home in the 1800 block of Arbor Lane.

"She walked out of the house and has not been seen by family since," according to a news release from police.

Officials added that the woman "shows signs of having Alzheimer's disease and has a history of becoming easily confused."

Arrocha is described as a Hispanic female with black and grey hair and brown eyes.

She is about 5-feet-5 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Family members said she was wearing a black sweater and beige pants when she was last seen.

Police and volunteers have been searching the area for Arrocha.

Anyone who sees her should call 911 or the Arlington Police Department's non-emergency dispatch line at 817 459-5600.
