I agree with the Vatican astronomer's statement regarding the Dec. 21 "end of the world" predictions by the Mayan calendar: "It's not even worth discussing."

I am surprised that the largest Christian church would consult an astronomer regarding the end of time as "predicted" by the Mayan calendar.

According to the Bible, Jesus says no one knows the last day, not even Jesus himself. See Matthew, Chapter 24. God's Holy Spirit revealed to the Apostle Paul that the end would come as "a thief in the night." See I Thessalonians, Chapter 5 and II Peter, Chapter 3.

Just as those who said 12-12-12 would be a luckier day than other days were wrong, so will those be wrong regarding the Mayan calendar predicting the world's last day on Dec. 21.

I suggest that those "last day" predictors start to formulate their excuses as to why they were wrong.
