FORT WORTH -- Authorities have released the name of the man who was found dead Thursday evening beneath a car in the garage of his house in the South Hills neighborhood.
Alonso Alvarado, 36, was identified Friday by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.A 911 call was received about 6:30 p.m. Thursday from the 5100 block of Rector Avenue, officials said. Alvarado apparently had been working on the car when a jack gave way, said Lt. Carol Jones, a spokeswoman for Fort Worth Fire Department.Cause of death, according to the medical examiner, was "compressional asphyxia with chest injuries."The man had not been heard from in a couple days, Jones said.
