I wish commentators would think before they speak.

We don't know for sure that had there not been a gun around, Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins would still be alive.

One thing to understand when it comes to domestic violence is that perpetrators conduct their violence to punish their victims, whether the reason is justified or in their heads. This punishment is usually personal, and they want to see the results of their work, often blaming the victim for it.

They have many weapons to choose from besides guns. It is folly to believe that merely eliminating one weapon option out of many will end domestic violence.
