I can't help but note the irony of Wanda Conlin's Friday letter, "Taxing the rich," in which she urges our country to heed her mother's advice to "Never take anything from the government" and then a few sentences later mentions that she "got a wonderful education in our public school system."

It seems as if even her mother did not take her own advice.
