A Fort Worth resident who was on the Texas "10 Most Wanted" sex offenders list was arrested Monday in Austin, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.

Lloyd Lester Gibson III, 67, was "a high-risk sex offender whose most common offense was to expose himself to underage girls," according to a DPS news release.

"He was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender in Fort Worth and [a] parole violation," the release stated. "His lengthy criminal history includes indecent exposure, indecency with a child by fondling, indecency with a child by exposure and burglary of a habitation."

Gibson was arrested by officers of the U.S. Marshals Service's Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, which includes the DPS, at 12:30 p.m. Monday in south Austin. He was in the Travis County Jail on Wednesday night, awaiting extradition to Tarrant County, according to the marshals' service release.

A news release from the marshals service states that Gibson was released from prison in 2010.

He moved to Houston and subsequently relocated to Fort Worth, but "failed to comply with his registration requirements, resulting in warrants being issued."
