ARLINGTON -- A standoff with police and U.S. marshals ended without injuries early Tuesday afternoon when a man who had barricaded himself inside a west Arlington house surrendered.

Pervis Lee Andrews, 43, was being held Tuesday evening at the Arlington City Jail.

Bail was $10,899 for a felony warrant of assault/family violence "and additional misdemeanor warrants," said Tiara Richard, a police spokeswoman.

The incident began about 10 a.m. as the officers and marshals who were looking for Andrews saw him enter a house in the 500 block of Matt Lane, Richard said .

The neighborhood is a few blocks west of the Masonic Home on North Fielder Road.

He refused to surrender and the standoff began, said Sgt. Christopher Cook, a police spokesman, in a video briefing posted on YouTube.

The SWAT team was summoned.

The man came out of the house "without incident" at 2:30 p.m., Richard said.
