Bah, Interlochen!

I was sad to hear of the selfish attitude of some of the Interlochen residents in their threat to store their Christmas lights if the Salvation Army spread cheer and raised money on nearby private property during their annual Christmas light show. (See: "Salvation Army loses battle with Interlochen," Friday)

So Christmas spirit is about showing off your lighted homes but not about helping the helpless?

The excuse for their tantrum was fear of increased traffic problems. I doubt traffic problems could get any worse in the area than they have been for decades during this time of year. The shame is that the veneer of "giving" to the community has been stripped off this annual event by the leaders of this neighborhood movement.

I will be doing my part to lighten the traffic load at Interlochen this year.
