I am so sick of hearing people refer to the first Christmas shopping day after Thanksgiving as "Black Friday."

It's so depressing. It sounds like the day of the stock market crash.

You'd think they could come up with a more upbeat, happy-sounding name for what is supposed to be a positive, happy, exciting day of Christmas shopping.

Maybe they could call it "Merry Friday" or "Shopping Friday." Or "Jingle Friday" (as in "jingle bells" at Christmas and "jingle" of cash registers ringing up sales).
