Two people were injured, one critically, after an altercation at a Grand Prairie park on Sunday led to gun shots.

A bystander called 911 at 4:45 p.m. to report about 50 people fighting at Fish Creek Linear Park in the 4500 block of Coventry, police said. The caller saw 10 to 15 cars race away from the park and said shots were fired.

Witnesses told police that uninvited guests showed up at a gathering, and the two sides got into an argument, which turned into a physical fight and gunfire.

About 5 p.m., two gunshot victims showed up at two separate area hospitals. One was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and is in serious condition. The other is being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest and is in critical condition.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Major Crimes hotline at 972-237-8877.
