Historically, when I have heard people say, "I know my rights," they usually don't.

I believe our education system should teach and re-teach the difference between a "privilege" and a "right."

As I have listened to the candidates at all levels of government spew their views of "basic human rights," I have wondered how many, if any, had actually read the Bill of Rights. As humans, we have an obligation to watch out for, and take care of, those who can not provide for themselves. And I do not know anyone who disagrees with that.

However, over the past 50 years, we have created our own Frankenstein monster that is not motivated to work, feed, educate or house itself. In fact, they now believe our government should freely provide these things because it's their "right" as Americans.

We have truly forgotten what it means to "feed a man a fish and he will eat today, but teach a man to fish and he will eat forever."
