Career politicians

Career congressmen have gotten this country into a terrible financial mess. With a $16 trillion federal debt, we cannot continue on this disastrous course.

Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame. During George W. Bush's terms, Republicans reversed the trend and returned to deficit spending. To date, they have refused to raise taxes to pay off this debt. Democrats, on the other hand, have continued their spending ways to the point that the federal government is having to borrow 40 cents for every dollar it spends!

This is atrocious. Neither political party is acting responsibly, and it is time for this practice to stop.

If we do not see drastic changes in the way Congress operates in the next two years, citizens should re-evaluate voting for career politicians who place special interests over what is really best for our country.
