FORT WORTH -- A 70-year-old woman with two driving while intoxicated convictions now faces a third after police say she hit a city marshal's patrol unit head-on Wednesday night.
The wreck happened about 7:19 p.m. in the 9000 block of N. Normandale Street.The deputy marshal, identified in a police report as M. McGuire, was traveling west on North Normandale when a gray Kia traveling in the opposite direction suddenly crossed into his lane, striking his car head-on, according to officer Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police spokesman.McGuire, who was conscious and talking at the scene, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Sanda Bloxom of White Settlement was arrested for suspicion of DWI after officers gave her a field sobriety test at the scene, Segura said.The offense is a third-degree felony because of her previous two convictions.She was booked into the Mansfield Jail, where she remained Thursday.Her bail was set at $5,000.Tarrant County court records show Bloxom was convicted of her first DWI in February 2000.
