This is a letter of gratitude.
Our daughter was in a really bad accident Oct. 25. Her car flipped over and caught fire on Interstate 20 near Ranger. She walked away with a slight lumbar injury.A couple, one of whom was a nurse, stopped and helped my daughter.A man retrieved her items from the car and drove out of his way to deliver them. He has called to check on our daughter several times.Another man was first to call in the accident. There also were DPS officers, firemen, EMTs, CareFlite people and the staff of John Peter Smith Hospital trauma services. Every hospital employee provided outstanding care and support for my daughter. University Baptist Church families, our neighbors on our street, Arlington Heights High School and the Applied Learning Academy have been caring, concerned, kind and gracious. When something like this happens, the aftershock of dealing with all the details is quite overwhelming. The lesson I have learned as the parent of a teenage daughter is: God preserved her life for some reason, and most people truly care about helping others. I will try very hard to remember to say "thank you" more often. Thank you!-- Julie R. Fisher, Fort WorthHave more to add? News tip? Tell us
