A woman and her estranged boyfriend were found dead in her Arlington apartment Tuesday morning, an apparent murder-suicide, Arlington police said.

Their names had not been released by late Tuesday.

Police went to the apartment after getting a 911 call about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday from relatives who were worried that the woman had not picked up her child after work, said Sgt. Christopher Cook, a police spokesman.

The woman lived in the Indian Creek Apartments in the 2700 block of Medicine Pass in southeast Arlington.

Officers saw blood outside the apartment and kicked open the door. They found the woman's body in one room and the man's in another, Cook said.

They believe a handgun was used.

Investigators do not believe anyone else was involved but interviewed relatives and neighbors Tuesday.
