The American Civil Liberties Union has said that Gov. Rick Perry's proposal for drug tests for people wanting welfare benefits is "costly, ineffective, inhuman and punitive."

I worked for an aerospace company for 18 years, and we were subject to random drug tests dictated by an agency of the federal government (FAA).

Where was the ACLU to protect me from this inhumane and punitive treatment? Oh, I forgot -- I was only a hard-working taxpayer.
