Man killed in shooting in south Fort Worth

FORT WORTH -- A 21-year-old man was shot and killed Monday night in a robbery outside his south Fort Worth apartment complex.

Islander Tavira had apparently just returned home to the Southgate Manor Apartments in the 1200 block of East Seminary Drive when the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m.

Police say Tavira had parked in the parking lot when a man approached him and demanded money. The robber then shot Tavira multiple times and fled.

Tavira was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 10:10 p.m.

No arrests have been made at this time.
